As a Software Engineering Manager on the Robinson Fresh (RF) team at C.H. Robinson you will leverage your previous experience and industry best practices to develop, shape, and lead a software development team that will build the next wave supply chain applications provided by Robinson Fresh.  In this role, you will be responsible for driving new development on our proprietary platforms, integrating with 3rd party applications, and supporting the remaining deployments required to sunset legacy systems.  You will have the opportunity to collaborate with RF business and technology leaders to paint the vision and construct capability roadmaps that set expectations and design direction.Robinson Fresh is a division of CH Robinson that provides product, transportation, and services for a wide variety of customers like retailers, foodservice, wholesalers, and growers. C.H. Our global technology teams will continue to have the flexibility that enables you to work where you are most effective, whether that be remote or in the office. *Responsibilities:* * Provide leadership and oversight for a team of 15+ that is comprised of Software Engineers, Engineering Product Managers, and Quality Assurance professionals* Partner with technology and business leaders to ensure the teams are empowered and obstacles remediated to deliver solid solutions and software for our RF business.* Immerse yourself in daily development and Agile process to identify what works best to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation. * Gain a thorough understanding of RF sourcing and services business. * Continue to learn and optimize the communication and collaboration of teams that are both remote and onsite.  * Acquire a deep understanding of Managed Procurement, Replenishment, Navisphere (CH Robinson’s technology platform), and Famous (3rd party).   * Support the new RF technology request process and bring energy and innovation to new areas of development (Warehouse Mgt., PO Mgt.)    * Support the deployment/testing efforts to sunset Compass and IMS legacy systems.  * Collaborate with Architecture and other software engineers to ensure that solutions are aligned with CHR target design and architectural best practices.    * Oversee the career development, performance, and compensation of the RF delivery team.* Recruit and grow all roles on the team by identifying needs, building skills and mentoring.  *Required Qualifications:* * 7+ years of professional programming experience using general purpose programming languages such as C# (preferred), Java, JavaScript, C/C++, or Python* 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and developing people* Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with users, technical teams, and all levels of leadership in technology and Robinson Fresh. * Experience working on successful projects in an Agile environment that include setting and hitting milestones.  * Strong understanding of how a successful software development team functions and delivers high quality software with urgency    * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma or GED *Preferred Qualifications:* * Strong problem solving, analytical, and programming skills in C#* Able drive and articulate development based on software design and architectural goals * Commitment to continuous learning both for yourself and your team* Values a diverse and inclusive work environment* Able to thrive in a collaborative, creative, dynamic workplace* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* A growth mindset that is open to giving and receiving feedback*Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer*C.H.
