Position Summary:

Responsible for the preparation of pro forma financial statements for prospective customers and customer profitability and sustainability analyses. Create, update, and maintain tools and processes to track and evaluate customer financial performance. Serve as a business partner / advisor based on customer data research and analysis. Provide recurring as well as ad hoc reporting as needed.

Job Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned:
  • Collaborate with key decision makers within Finance and Operations during the preparation of customer pro forma financial statements
  • Prepare customer profitability analyses based on actual financial performance. Compare results against the pro forma financials and assess / adjust assumptions used in the pro forma process
  • Provide periodic reporting to management regarding customer status and financial health; partner with Commercial Credit to provide visibility to customer trends
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain dashboards and analytics related to customer positions, including financial health and credit status
  • Complete ad hoc analyses, generally consisting of the extraction and manipulation of data to identify root causes of financial performance with the goal of understanding and providing explanations to both internal and external customers
  • Cross-train with other members of the team to understand and document business processes and ensure continuity
  • A high level of accuracy on all data analysis is expected, as well as a desire to continue to learn new approaches, techniques, and best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Requirements:
  • Proficiency in querying complex data warehouses and aggregating data for strategic reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Access (e.g., the ability to analyze / visualize data through use of VLOOKUP and Index Match functions, advanced conditional formatting, and macros / VBA scripts, etc.) and SQL
  • SAS experience preferred
  • Well-organized with high attention to detail. Highly motivated and able to prioritize and manage time wisely while handling multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to conduct analyses with relative autonomy
  • Strong analytic and quantitative reasoning and enjoy problem solving
  • 5+ years in analysis
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the organization, including upper management
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including human relations, engagement within a team environment, and effective communications skills
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of learning and applying knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques
  • B.S. or MA/MS in Statistics, Economics/Computer Engineering, or equivalent field
  • A Masters degree is preferred
  • Knowledgeable regarding financial statements and principles with the ability to perform detailed income statement analysis and forecast activity based on historical and expected business trends
