Research Analyst - Beckington Salary £40k to £48k dep on exp, hybrid mix of on-site & home-based SEA has an exciting new opportunity for a Research Analyst to join our growing complex systems team of modelling experts. You will get to work on exciting projects involving underwater acoustic modelling, signal processing, mathematical modelling, machine learning and sonar. The ideal candidate will have a numeracy related Degree, PhD or proven 'relevant experience' coupled with an interest in applied data science or signal processing, to mathematical modelling of real world problems. Working in a small, dedicated team of research specialists you will apply numerical and analytical methods to create mathematical models of observed and predicted behaviour, extract information from data providing domain specific knowledge and insight. Your day to day duties will include things like: - Apply mathematical and programmatic methods to perform the extraction, cleansing, manipulation and visualisation of data to extract information. - Design trials and experiments to generate data for analysis. - Design and implement mathematical models of observed and predicted, behaviour and performance. - Develop and configure software tools to support modelling and analysis - A full job description is available on application Your experience will include . - Commercial experience of applied data science or signal processing to mathematical modelling on real world problems. - Completed a numerate degree and ideally MSc or PhD in application for mathematical or data science techniques in a real world environment. - Data analytics and visualisation - Experience in Sonar Signal Processing or geo-acoustics. - A keen interest in Machine Learning - Experience of Python / Matlab Programming useful but not essential - Will need to be able to pass UK Security clearance Our benefits package At SEA we put people at the heart of our business.
