Payroll Administrator

£25,000 per annum

Part-time or Full-time role

FTC for 12 months with opportunities for a Permanent position

Based in Whitchurch

KPI Recruiting are currently in partnership with an established organisation, who due to extensive growth are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Administrator. Based in Whitchurch, you will be joining a longstanding company, that have been in their industry for over 100 years! A leader in their field with the most advanced technology, they continuously thrive all year round.

As a Payroll Administrator you will be involved in the payroll process of 250 weekly employees and 130 employees on a monthly basis. To be successful in the team you will need to be able to work to strict deadlines and manage a busy workload. You will be reporting into the Payroll Manager.

Key duties are as follows:

  • Setting up new records, new starters and leavers returns
  • Assessing and processing weekly and monthly time sheets
  • Ensuring SMP, SPP, SSP, Salary Sacrifice, Court Orders, Student Loans and Pensions are processed in line with legislation
  • Completing Auto-Enrolment pension assessments, reconciliations and making payments to the pension provider
  • Preparing BACs reports
  • Ensuring submissions are processed in line with the deadlines
  • Dealing with reconciliations and making payments
  • Processing month end reconciliations and year end procedure
  • Keeping relevant information up to date
  • Liaising with external agencies such as HMRC, pension providers etc.,
  • Resolving payroll queries
  • Keeping up-to-date with proposed legislation and regulations
  • Continually reviewing processes and working practices to ensure the company maintains an up to date
  • Ensuring full adherence to compliance processes

Candidate skills required (ideally):

  • Good all round Payroll knowledge including statutory family pay
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to manipulate data as required
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail due to the exposure to sensitive data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Confident communicator with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines and managing a busy workload
  • Understands the need to handle Payroll & HR information in a sensitive and confidential manner
