Vision for Education are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a local primary school in Blackburn and the surrounding areas. About the role The role will be starting from January 2023 and is expected to end in July 2023. However, for the ideal candidate the school is happy to make the role permanent. The HLTA will be expected to assist the classroom teacher with the delivery of the national curriculum. The HLTA will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also, to deliver learning to individuals, small groups and whole classes as and when required. Our ideal HLTA will encourage pupils to become independent learners, to provide support for their welfare, and to support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life. The role will be full-time Monday-Friday (term time only). About the school The school is located in the centre of Blackburn and is easily accessible by car. For those who do not drive the school is closely located to a busy bus route. The school has worked hard over the years to tackle behaviour, implementing a strong, whole-school behaviour management policy, which has had a positive impact from EYFS-KS2. Prior to COVID-19, they were inspected by OFSTED and were graded as 'Good' with outstanding areas. The school offer a supportive and welcoming environment for new and existing staff, with excellent facilities to support its pupils best with their education. The school is easily accessible by car and has its own car park for use of staff. Driving is not essential for this role, as the school is easily accessible via a bus route if public transport is required. Requirements To be considered for the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) you will: Have had experience working of supporting children in KS1 and KS2. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff. Extensive knowledge of the Key Stage 1 & 2 curriculum. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
