Finishing manager required on a freelance basis to work on a station redevelopment project in West Sussex. The finishing manager will advise on quality elements related to the internal fit-out of the station.

Paperwork is a key element.

Duties:

To ensure the works are carried out in compliance with required Quality Standards, company processes and specifications/drawings:

Reporting to the Technical Director

To assist at all levels in activities designed to maintain the system of Quality on the project

Carry out inspection of hold and witness points as required by the ITPs, independently of the construction teams onsite and offsite

Carry out testing as required by the relevant standards

Carry out daily observations (positive/negative) and record the findings (NCRs where required)

Witness/records tests being carried out by subcontractors and specialist suppliers

Identify and record items/processes that are non-conforming such as defects or snagging

Assist with the project handover system and carry out weekly checks on progress

Work closely with the client to ensure specified requirements are achieved

Any other tasks as identified by the Technical Director/Quality Manager

Core hours are Monday to Friday 7:30 - 17:00 but the work required to be covered will include some out of hour's shifts/weekend/bank holidays and night shift work as and when required.

Where visits to supplier/subcontractors are required, this may entail additional and/or out of office hours and overnight stays
