Summary:

As a member of Meta's Enterprise Financial Crime Compliance (EFCC) Team, you will drive efforts related to both improving and developing AML models for new products to address gaps/risks identified across all AML models (TM AML, ERR, CRR) in the Payments Compliance area. You will work collaboratively with a dynamic group of cross-functional stakeholders including but not limited to Legal, Product, Engineering, Finance and Marketing. You may have side projects to help create innovative scalable AML compliance systems and processes to harness the "transactional" power of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and other Meta companies. You will help Meta ensure that its compliance policies, internal controls and systems help Meta in its mission to make the world more open and connected. Meta is committed to complying with Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) obligations imposed by federal, state, foreign, and other applicable laws. These governing laws and regulations may include without limitation the following: the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA); the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 (Patriot Act); the rules and regulations overseen by the United States Department of the Treasurys Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); and other requirements applicable to registered money services businesses (MSBs). Facebook Payments maintains a risk-based Policy and Program designed to ensure compliance by Facebook Payments and its affiliates with governing law.

Required Skills:

AML Models Analyst Responsibilities:

  1. Drive end-to-end design and implementation process to develop AML rules/models
  2. Support continuous improvement of AML model through: Monitoring alert trends and statistics, Recognizing new/emerging patterns and risks, Identify existing gaps and risk, Identify opportunities for greater effectiveness and efficiency, Proposing changes to existing models or new models to expand coverage, Driving the implementation of changes for continuous improvement, Leading technical validation efforts for new AML Models and changes to existing AML Models to confirm that technical implementation is consistent with business requirements through code reviews and sample output testing, Monitoring the performance and KPIs of AML Models through automated dashboard or ad hoc SQL queries on a periodic basis to identify any anomalies that warrant root cause analysis, Partnering with analytics and engineering teams to perform root cause analysis for any identified anomalies in AML model performance include variations in alert volume, feature distribution and importance, and data quality issues
  3. Support new product launches and cross-functional initiatives by: Determining product risks and regulatory requirements, Defining model controls requirements to mitigate the risk, Driving the model controls implementation through collaboration with cross-functional partners across product, engineering, Compliance, Data and Operations teams to build effective AML Models/rules across payments products, Providing requirements for future AML Models and Rules to analytics partners including proposed features, rule logic, and thresholds as determined through statistical analysis and sample testing
  4. Support periodic review of AML models (internal/external audit & state exams), document findings and create path forward to address the model validation findings
  5. Recommend threshold based on statistical quantitative analysis and ATL/BTL testing
  6. Participate actively with Governance and Oversight teams and ensure Model related efforts are in compliance with the governance framework
  7. Provide periodic and thorough updates related to ongoing efforts, trends and compliance issues with Leadership
  8. Work with competing priorities & cross functional teams, and is able to work with minimal guidance
  9. Summarize, document, and communicate findings and recommended action items in a timely manner to compliance management and/or other internal stakeholders when appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors degree & experience in Compliance at a financial services company
  2. Experience in statistics and SQL/Python to effectively assess and develop AML Transaction requirements
  3. 4+ years of experience in Transaction Monitoring program development, implementation and validating systems/controls
